Saturday is the next event on the "fun" schedule. This will be the Military Challenge in Virginia Beach - a 5k with obstacles.
This is a checklist that I have used for many races so far. I tend to modify it depending on the event but it seems useful and a great way for others to know what to bring.
Military Challenge Participants:
Saturday morning is the race - make sure you are ready to have fun!! We'll meet in the parking lot of the VB Sports Complex. Look for the tall tailgating American Flag and VT (Hokies) Flag attached to my Jeep - they fly about 10 feet off the ground...a can't miss.
Be prepared for the race. Items to bring for BEFORE the race:
-Registration confirmation and ID. (might be required to pick up number and packet)
*CASH*
-Running/Trail shoes (they WILL get muddy!!)
-Socks
-Optional: athletic tape to tape your shoes to your feet
-Running clothes (they WILL get muddy!!) : shirt/shorts/etc.
*We are wearing costumes** - feel free to join the fun....or wear your new or older PAC shirts/shorts/Onelife Fitness shirts/or whatever you want...Sunglasses/hats/sunscreen (as you feel necessary)
-Breakfast/water/snacks/etc.
-Pack your stuff in a small bag. There might be a bag check at the race. If not, you can leave your stuff in your car or my Jeep.
Items to bring for AFTER the race:
*CASH*
-Towels (I'm bringing a wet one in a plastic freezer bag to clean up with)
-Towels (dry and clean)
-Towels (beach sized - for the car ride home)
-Change of clothes and SHOES (EVERYTHING will be muddy....EVERYTHING!)
-Plastic/waterproof bags to throw all your dirty stuff in for the ride home.
After the race, I'll update the blog on how it went.
